  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As we had started the apprenticeship during the COVID 19 pandemic the company was very supportive. They managed to find a way of us doing a lot of the theory side of the learning from home with our learning development manager hosting team meeting Monday to Friday every week meaning we could stay safe as well as starting our apprenticeship

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I have no background in plumbing, gas or electrics everything I learn here is helping me perform better. Before I could not wire up a central heating system and now I am more then comfortable to jump in and have it done, working safely. It has also helped me with understanding more efficient ways of working

  • 9a. Would you recommend British Gas to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I was originally recommended by a friend who was a smart engineer who come through the smart engineer apprenticeship with British Gas. It is a fun and informative place to work and you can see people take great pride in what they do. I would and have recommend the apprenticeship to friends and family

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Gas?
  • Don’t hesitate to do so, you would be hard pushed to find an apprenticeship program who pay as much and invest so much into each individual. On day one you get a new van with all of your tools and uniform and things are always being added to. 100% would recommend
