On a day to day basis, my role includes, opening accounts for customers, providing financial advise, helping with any concerns or any questions that they may have, other tasks for myself is preparing for exams, speaking to other colleagues to learn about other parts of the business and sharing experiences
i have learned a vast majority of skills since starting, from an increased knowledge of financial understanding, being able to handle money and savings, mortgages etc and also increased english and maths skills through learning new skills and ways to be able to approach and speak to people along with new sale skills
i really enjoy the programme as no 2 days are the same and every day is different so it always keeps you on your toes, helping you to learn news skills everyday or to improve on the ones that you already currently have to keep developing myself as an individual
i would say that my programme is very well structured and organised, for any training sessions or studying time and support, i know that i have ample time to know in advance and to be able to prep for both and being able to get in touch with tutors or mentors is easy and quite helpfuk
I always receive as much support from my employer/manager as i need, i know that if i have any problems or if there are any concerns that i would be able to get in touch with them and to be able to have that conversation about any concerns i have
i receive a good amount of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications, i know if i have problems or if i need extra time or some more revision sessions etc then i can get in touch with them and they will be able to help me with any problems that i was having
i feel that my qualification helps me to perform better in my role because im learning about different parts of banking and business which can help me in conversation or when it comes to opening accounts and being able to understand jargon and have more structured conversations about banking/finance related topics
i have the options to be able to do volunteering days that the company help provide which allows us to help local communities and the company also has events that goes on regular through the staff association where you can also be entered into a monthly raffle to be able to win various prizes and tickets for events
Yes
i would recommend Newcastle building society as a place to work as they care about the staff and their mental health well being, they are extremely supportive and are always there to offer assistance when need be, there are also a vast amount of career progressing opportunities and always encourages and helps staff to perform to the best of their ability
the tips and advice i would give to someone applying to Newcastle building society are is to try and take advantage of the assessment days and on boarding opportunity as they provide quite good experience for what the company is like and allows to make good judgement and to keep trying as the experience will be helpful as well
