I am a designer and I work on CAD systems to produce parts of a submarine. It also involves moving parts around on the submarine to make space for things.
Currently I’m in college so I haven’t learnt any on the job knowledge. I have learnt the basics of CAD softwares which is new and relevant
For my first year in college it has been alright. I have learnt basics of CAD which is relevant to the job but I feel that some more job specific opportunities would be better. I feel like I will enjoy it when I’m in the offices though.
The structure is reasonable given the current circumstances. The communication is sometimes a little vague or ambiguous but it isn’t easy with COVID.
We receive plenty of support from BAE.
We receive a good amount of support for our qualifications in our first year.
Given it is the first year I am currently unsure how it will apply. I can see the positives but I also think some of the subjects aren’t relevant and could be replaced with other more important subjects.
I’m too sure, we haven’t done anything yet but we are only in our first year.
Yes
Because it is a big local employer with good job security. It also offers competitive salaries and it is a good job to have. They also have multiple different roles within the business so there is likely a job that suits anyone.
I would advise that they take their interview seriously because it is a good workspace so it they should make sure they try their best.
