My role within the business is a designer apprentice. At the moment I am in full time at education studying at Furness College. Soon I will be moving into my business as a hull designer.
I have learnt a wide range of new skill, building from confidence to designing skills, my confidence has been improved by meeting new people and taking part in activities such as presentations and podcasts. I have also learnt drawing and designing skills on CAD designing.
I really enjoy my program as it builds my confidence and skills. I also really enjoy using the CAD systems as there is so many different things that I can accomplish whilst on there.
Our program is structured well, we have a set amount of time in college to learn the new skills. We also have to pass a number of exams in order to continue within our apprenticeship. They are also structuring out transition into the business.
We receive some support from our employers, this can range from weekly meetings to develop the BAE behaviours, or we also receive reviews regularly to receive feedback on how we are doing, as well as a chance to ask any question we may have.
We receive a lot of support when it comes to our learning, we have all our classes through the week, as well as having 3 support lessons where we can do any work we need as well as ask any questions regarding the work.
I feel that the the qualifications we get help us improve ready for our movement into the business, they teach us what we need to know in order to preform our best within our role.
I haven’t partaken in any extra curricular activities as with being at college I am unaware of any extra curricular activities that may be available.
