  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During are first year at we are at college learning basic skills for how to do your trade then once we time out the first year we then move into the buissness training school inside the business and enhance your knowledge and get placed onto a placement and once you time out then go into the shipyard

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've already achieved my lv2 mechanical engineering at a different college when I finished school but it's good to go over it again as I haven't done it for a couple of years so it's good to get the experience again and learn how to do things differently

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program is okay as I'm going to have to retrain the skills I learn acouple of years ago it's also good that I can then learn different skills and update new previous skills that I forgot how to do them. The tutors and lectures are very helpful and knowledgeable

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme itself is okay as the knowledge and training provided is very good and you feel like your actually leaning knowledge towards the degree I'm learning to get but the when you need to get in contact with people from the company about illness or time off it's hard to get in contact with them

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The college tutors give you alot of support and they make you feel like your achieving to what your learning to get and the college experience is very good as it's very relaxed but from a buissness point of view not very good as nobody picks the phone up when you need to get in contact with them

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • On a college point of view there is quite alot of knowledge and support that you receive is good and informative the training school seems okay I will be looking forward to the next year to see how the training school actually is like but from what I've seen it's okay

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that The qualification I'm doing is making me feel better in the job I'm going to go into the company with and prefect my skills so I can have more skills and be able to do all the jobs that they would like me to do in the workplace

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No but I feel that there should be as it will get you to meet more people and get a better friend group rather then the people in your team. Examples could be social night a or themed nights but it would be a good idea to get a better idea who your working with

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Good company to work for and can set you up for life it's a great way to meet other people and the atmosphere is great and friendly but there should be more social events and that might be good for the employees also it's good for the area as it's keeping locals in the buissness


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • The tips and advise if give others for applying for bae systems would be learn the the history and heritage of the site fr your interview also have a a general knowledge of the apprenticeship that your applying for so you have a idea about the jobs and tasks that you will need to do
