During my daily work I start with having a call with my team to discuss current outstanding tasks and the allocations to each team members this is also where i raise any issues in my work i may be having. Throughout the day i will speak to team members for any other tasks.
Whilst working at CGI i have developed a range of skills and they have helped me become better in my role. Things such as writing an email with the appropriate clear information is very important when working with clients and can be the difference of a barrage of questions or a simple approval
Although i enjoy working I am not the most academic so at times Assignments can be overwhelming whilst also working however managing time well is a huge factor in which this process can be simplified and made easier, Due to COVID however it has been really difficult
The programme is structured quite well with a enormous support from CGI aswell as the university however i feel the University could do better on there part in terms of organising the lectures and seminars more appropriately to make it easier on Degree apprenticeship students. The support and studying from the university is not the best.
CGI always provides a lot of support, i have regular meetings with my manager and mentors who guide me throughout the programme. Aswell as this CGI has a education website where there is a range of courses to take to help improve your skills in almost any way. sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with all the work.
The university support has been good for the first year however due to COVID-19 it has been a struggle we have had constant lecturers being changed so it has been difficult to ask for help at times as different people had been teaching us aswell as this it has been disorganised.
i feel my qualification gives me a wider view of the my roles and puts into perspective how each part of the project works together as well as how the managers and directors are able to have meetings with clients to discuss phases and what the client requires from CGI
At CGI we have an SSC club which people can join, every month they host different events that are exciting you are also able to get together with a few friends and host your own event which CGI will fund and other people can come and join if they are involved.
Yes
I think CGI has many opportunities for young people and it is constantly developing. The team they have here is incredibly supportive and will try their best to guide you towards making the correct choices for your future career. There's also many different pathways so if something is not for you there is always other options.
The advice i would give is to just be you, During the application don't downplay your successes and in interviews to be confident and clear when you're speaking and learn when to listen because listening is an highly important skill on interview days. They are always watching you.
