The apprenticeship programme at Mace has allowed me to learn so much about being a project manager and about being young person within the construction industry. The programme has helped me to develop skills and knowledge which will allow me to further progress my career. The programme is fun and exciting and the Mace team are great with providing opportunities to learn and develop.
The apprenticeship programme at Mace is well organised and structured. As an apprentice at Mace it is clear to see the direction in which your career is heading as the work completed on a day to day shows this along with the additional sessions and training sessions which are provided by Mace.
Mace is a great employer. As an apprentice I feel supported to perform to the best of my ability and to not be afraid to put myself out there and try new things. Mace encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and develop your skills and knowledge. Mace provide weekly/fortnightly/monthly meetings to ensure your on the right track with the programme and to see areas which you might require more focus.
UCEM provide support when working towards your qualifications as all apprentices studying at UCEM have a review every 8 weeks where day to day activities are discussed along with a review of academic progress and a skills, knowledge and behavior check to ensure that you are performing well and developing.
My qualification and apprenticeship programme go hand in hand. The courses I am/have studying at UCEM completely relate to the construction industry and the projects I am working on and also relate to current affairs. The qualification increases my knowledge of different aspects of the industry which I can use within my day to day activities.
Yes there are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at Mace. Not only with my apprentice cohort but with all apprentices, graduates and employees across the Mace business. There are team building days, social days/evenings out where you can get to know other people you might not know on your projects.
Yes
I would recommend Mace to a friend. Mace is a fantastic employer, they care about everyone's individual progression and development. Mace have/are working on iconic projects across the globe and there is so much talent to learn from. Mace benefits and employee benefits allow employees to enjoy working for Mace through flexible working, additional 2 Mace day leave.
To anyone applying to Mace, the advice I would give is to be yourself and show your passion. Mace employees are very talented and have a wealth of knowledge. Showcase your skills, knowledge and experience. Also, do research about Mace, know who we are, what iconic projects we have worked on and what are objectives are.
