Looking after a wide team of individuals, ensuring that all questions are answered on a daily basis. Ensuring that all travel is sorted and booked, any adhoc tasks which come up regularly. Inc. desk booking which only came up during Covid, as well as a business management hub within office.
My people skills have developed constantly, through writing emails on a daily basis ensuring that I come across professional, as well as ensuring when people call me I am able to find answers swiftly for them. I have developed more as a person, as well as learning more about the organisation as a whole.
My programme over the past year and a half has been well planned and well executed. I have enjoyed learning all about different aspects of the business, and being able to adapt my needs to the business needs. I enjoy working in a fast paced environment where things need quick turn around times.
Out of COVID, the apprenticeship would have been more face to face with workshops in the office, due to covid, these had to move onto Microsoft teams, the managers and talent coaches still managed to ensure that we had all of the learning possible to get the most out of the apprenticeship.
I received a lot of support over the course of the apprenticeship, both from my placement managers and my talent coach, ensuring that I always had the time needed to complete both my work for the apprenticeship, as well as my placement work. As well as weekly check-ins to ensure everything was always on track.
I received a lot of support from my talent coach over the course of the apprenticeship, with 6 weekly check ins and always being on the other end of a phone or email, it ensured that I always was happy with my progress and if I didn’t understand something, it could be answered.
The qualification gained ensured that I am able to perform well in the role I am in, parts of my apprenticeship went through equality and diversity, whereas other parts went through regulations and processes put it place. To complete some of the work, it made me think through the work which I had already completed.
We have multiple networks within DE&S, including volunteering and the women’s network. Being involved with a wider group of people, especially whilst working from home, it is always important to be able to network with others, especially after only being in the office for a month before lockdown.
Yes
DE&S have run the apprenticeship very well over the past year and a half, even when we went into lockdown and we had to learn more about how our roles could transform to be able to work from home, I never felt like I couldn’t talk to anyone about how things were going.
Understand your CV 100%, be able to talk someone else through it with confidence, having a key achievements section is crucial! Also ensure that you read through the success profiles carefully, understanding different things and having a wide range of experiences which are important to bring up in interview situations.
