  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a cabler, my job at the moment is all about make sure that the ducts in the joint boxes are not damaged in order to put the fibre cable through, so by preparing for the fibre cable to be put through, we put draw rope between each joint box. I also ' walk the route' which just means when we are given our plans, we joint down any joint boxes which aren't on the map, and we also try and see if there's any issue we might come across and try and figure out how we can overcome the issue.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As far I know, there are not any after work activities with work, which is a shame because, you work together as a group and the only time we spend time together is at work, I do think if there were some sort of activities once a while with the team, I think the team cohesion would be great.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend this job because it's a career and you can progress in this industry if that's something you wanted to do and the company will help you gain the knowledge and give you all the tools you need. And also it's very enjoyable, no day is ever the same and you can really challenge yourself at this company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • For my experience, the process was really quick and efficient, they waiting in between the confirmation flew by, if there were documents you had forgotten to send off, they would communicate with you and it was a really good process. The interview itself was more like a friendly chat, really made you feel at ease, and they gave you the training you needed once you got your confirmation.
