My job role is a mix off installing fibre to a customer house, surveying jobs where there could be issues with getting a cable to the house and also identifying faults and fixing the faults for the customer.
I have only learnt FODW (Fibre only dropwire) as of yet however I hope in the near future I get to learn new skills as I go
I love the job and also the guidance I get through it. I cannot fault the company so far for the resources I am being given.
Very well structured, I know what days i'm on a workshop and I usually get training a week prior to when I go to. Its a nice balance off being on the tools and home/in training school learning.
I haven't had to ask for help from my employer yet, however the people I work with are always available to answer my questions and come and give me and hand if I'm stuck. My manager is a very good manager who supports all the new starts.
I have everything that I need for the job online and I know that if i go on certain I can find what I need
I would say this is the only issue with the apprenticeship, I feel the buddying period is too small as for the training you're 9 times out of 10 stuck in a classroom and its not in a realistic world.
I am yet to know about these yet however Im sure there are. Im usually either playing football or at home gaming on my PC
Yes
Its a great place to work and its a career. They give you everything to succeed in the telecoms world.
Be yourself and don't give up if you get rejected the first time. It took me 3 times to get the job and if not looked back since.
