I have developed skills and knowledge in areas of employee relations and employee law which i would have not learnt if i had not done the course because i work in a specific area of HR and wouldnt of been able to broaden my knowledge in this in another area.
I really enjoy the modules and think the lectures are clear and very helpfull. I really enjoy the support i get from my lead trainer as she is always there to help and support me on assignments and personal issues. I think the spec on some of the assignments could be a little more clearer.
My programme is structured well now that i understand it, because there is a lot to take in you may not be able to understand it all to you are at least halfway through the course. I think the online bit is very clear and especially the chart which tells you how many onj hours you do.
I dont recieve as much support from my employer as i would like, i recieve good support with my line manager when helping on assignments however i do not recieve the full hours i need ONJ to complete the apprenticeship without me having to do lots outside of work and this can be stressfull.
I recieve good support from my training provider i feel they are guiding me towards what i want to do after the qualification and support me on how to progress, my lead trainer is great with this and lets me know what positions are out there that i can apply for once my qualification is complete.
Because i know different levels of HR i can know understand how these elements come togther to create one vision/company strategy and that we are all wokring togethre for the same goals. It has helped my confidence in giving advice in areas i havent worked in due to my knowledge on the subject
There are social acitivites, networking days and things like that, that i already get involved in anyway even before starting the apprenticeship however it is quite hard to get involved with these due to covid. When it is assessable i would like to get involved with more networking days again.
Yes
Its a good company to start a role in HR and get some experience in HR, its a great stepping stone onto progression in HR however i wouldn't recommend staying here long term as i don't know if there's much opportunities to progress internally as they say there are but i would recommend as a starting line.
My advice would be to be yourself as MAB like friendly and helpfull people firstly to work for their company and then i would say it would help you if you have experience with working in hospitality especially in pubs in MAB as they like taking people on from the pubs to show they have progression.
