• Learning the BB R12 system and gaining the knowledge. • GRN Bulk Materials. Use of Bulk Material Tracker – use of task codes for GRNing and completing ADI’s, Accessing suppliers’ portals to gain PODs. • Matching invoices – Bulk Material suppliers and more recently plant Invoices • Going out to suppliers to query invoices and chase delivery notes.
My understanding of the query tracker has greatly improved as I now regularly upload my queries on time and I am giving good explanations to why these invoices cant be matched, which helps to resolve the query must quicker. I have also been given more responsibility recently in terms of the Lynch monthly conference call as I have been trusted to go on this call myself without any support, which has allowed me to gain a better knowledge of the Lynch statements and invoices and as a result the amounts of invoices outstanding has significantly dropped in the last few months.
Im still enjoying my time working for Balfour and I appreciate everything I have learned in my time here and I still like the work load I have been receiving even though I feel like I could be doing more within the business. And I am looking forward to the future within Balfour Beatty where I can hopefully take on more new and more challenging responsibility.
It is a very well structured as they allowed one day a week at college to do my AAT which i have now completed my level 2 and will start my level 3 as soon as possible. Along side full time working throughout the rest of the other four days.
I have received additional support and teaching in order to expand my knowledge of plant based work, as this has benefited me, so I am now able to take on more plant based work which has increased my overall workload. And i can always ask my manager for help and he is always happy to do so.
As stated above they allow me once a week to go to college in order for me to gain the necessary qualifications and they are always willing to let me have any study time during work hours to revise for any exams we might have in that week, which is another great thing about my job.
It has given me a greater knowledge of the general finance processes and has allowed me to perform much better in my role as i'm far more confident working then i was when i joined the Balfour Beatty a year and a half ago as i'm far more productive at my job now.
Well currently i'm taking part in the Balfour Beatty Brat-hay challenge which has put me in a group with other apprentices from different Balfour Beatty projects all across the country and we will be completing a team building event at the lake district and a presentation raising the awareness of apprenticeships.
Yes
Because for me personally I have enjoyed my time working at Balfour Beatty and I have grown in confidence within all aspects of my role throughout my time. And I am looking forward to the future within Balfour Beatty and also the people have been a pleasure to work with.
Make sure you know what role you wanna do at Balfour as there are many opportunities and a wide range of roles to choose from. In terms of the interview process make sure you well prepared in terms of your knowledge of the company itself and for me just be relaxed as the interview for me was a casual conversation.
