  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • Log traffic signal faults, Set VMS signs for Traffic Incidents/Roadworks/Events in Southampton. Implement Bus Priority around Southampton for buses and some traffic signal design and traffic modelling.

    • Confidence boost, gained more team working skills by working closely with other team within the Southampton contract

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

    • I enjoy my apprenticeship as I like leaning on the job as well as being exposed to different aspects of the Southampton Contract ITS network.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

    • Well structed. Completed my college course already. (1 year course) Previously was doing some ITS Signal Design for Roads Scheme in Soton, currently working on Bus Priority in Soton. Have been doing some volunteering work at local schools too.

    • Not so much the employer directly, but my manager has definitely supported me the most as well support from peers around me :)

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

    • Yes as I understand transport policies more in Southampton (College Course was: Transport Planning/Traffic Management)

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

    • I believe there is 5 a-side however I do not take part in this. Rated 1 as I do not get involved.

    • Yes

  • 9b. Why?

    • As BB is a large construction, who want to inspire younger people to become apprentices and to build the future.

    • Just Do it! :)
