I have a variety or responsabilities which involves me carrying out numerous tasks day. They do vary on a day-to-day basis as I am in the Live Support team. Within the team I pick up tickets that customers have submitted and use SQL to fix the problem. As well as doing this I am in charge of implementing LEAN across the account and I also help out my team leader in quite a few areas, for example, I make a huge contribution to the Monthly Service Report each month.
Yes! My ability to write SQL code has developed massively and my organisational skills have also improved. Not only has my technical ability grown but I am also a more confident person since joining Capgemini.
I am really happy to be on this programme and very grateful for the opportunity I have been given. I talk to everyone about it and am very proud to be working for Capgemini.
Capgemini as a whole makes apprentices feel welcome and wanted. The account I work on however gives me the best confident boost ever, my colleagues are very supportive and have made me feel more than just an apprentice from the beginning.
From day one we got told how the programme worked and what the structure was - to this day nothing has been different from what I expected or was told. Therefore I think the apprentice programme I am on is very well organised.
QA is out training provider and they are there for us every second through our journey. I have emailed or phoned my training assessor multiple times and each and every time he has responded quickly with the best help.
Capgemini have numerous ways that they support an employee, this is one of their strongest points I believe and it is no different for us apprentices.
For an apprentice the salary is very good, the only down side would be that whilst you are on the apprenticeship there is no structured way in how the salary increases which I think would help with motivation.
Since I started I haven't been asked to do anything involving Capgemini outside of work and there are a few things I read through emails that I've never heard of but that's all the experience of learning the company and getting myself involved.
Yes
It is a well known company with a good reputation. It provides many career paths and Capgemini lives by their "work life balance" quote which is implemented throughout the company.
Make sure you are applying for a role you will like - there a thousands of jobs within the company and to get the most out of your job and be the happiest you can be during work you need to make sure that you are doing something you enjoy.
