My role involves helping out with learning by tracking the completion of BPC through learning workshops and organising the logistics of workshops. For example, Learning Week is a BPC-wide event which I helped to manage this event and deliver it. Lastly, I got involved in several projects around D&I and Career Development.
I have worked on many skills throughout my apprenticeship such as my organisation skills and confidence by presenting to groups of people. In terms of technical skills, I have developed my business acumen by focusing on finding solutions for the business and when presenting, to be more concise with the information I choose to present.
I really enjoyed the programme, I learnt a lot from Babington and with my HR role. I felt that they both combined at some stages, so I could use what I learnt from my apprenticeship and apply it to excel in my role. I really enjoyed the programme which makes me excited to start on my next apprenticeship.
The programme was engaging and interesting, however it could be more organised. I felt that a lot of work was left to the end of my programme when preparing for gateway and some of those tasks could have been given to me closer to the start of my apprenticeship. My tutor was very good at booking in check-ins to see where I was with my work although wasn't as good at replying to emails in between the check-ins.
My team were really good - in particular my first Line Manager, she supported me throughout and offered her help whenever I needed it with my apprenticeship and HR work. I had the chance to experience a variety of different line managers, which was a good experience but was also quite challenging to adapt each time to their way of working.
Babington were good at offering me support whenever I needed it particularly at the monthly check-ins. Although, in between those check-ins, whenever I had a questions, it took a while to get a response. There was a change in my tutor closer to the end of the apprenticeship and she was really supportive in helping me complete the gateway. I was able to achieve a distinction due to her support.
Particularly at the beginning of my apprenticeship, a lot of the work I received from my apprenticeship was relevant to utilise in my HR role and perform better. Although as my work progressed in HR, so did my apprenticeship work but this seemed to progress in different directions where they didn't overlap.
Particularly being part of the Apprenticeship Community allowed me to take part in extra-curricular activities such as group events, networking events and also outside work events. It really helped to be part of a community and my role within it was previously the Community and Onboarding Team which then changed to the Community Team.

It is a great company to work for. I have enjoyed working in my team for 1 and a half years and loved the work I have been doing. I feel I have really developed throughout my apprenticeship and gained a lot from it. So I would definitely recommend Unilever.
I would give them advice to try their best in the assessment centre and to not put too much pressure on themselves. Just to get to that point is really good because Unilever is such a well-known company, that there will be a lot of competition throughout the assessment process.
