I work in the technology department of the business by developing software to improve product experiences for the website and app platforms. My role is to work in an agile team to understand business needs and to achieve these with technology enhancements.
I have learnt so much through this degree apprenticeship by being able to fully articulate and be able to develop myself websites and applications to a professional standard. Whilst learning how a establish business operates.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in the degree apprenticeship by being able to get a degree whilst gaining valuable experience within the industry that has given me the boost in my career compared to the traditional university route.
The course is well organised and structured each year from a university stand point with some improvements needed at certain points that where addressed and rectified straight away. I personally think the businesses could have a greater involvement and understanding of how the degree apprenticeship operates.
I always felt like I got sufficient enough support from my employer on a management level. However, I feel like from a full business or department perspective could’ve provided more support from equipment to internal development to support us with our degree.
I received sufficient enough training from my training provider that was my university. With support sessions and extra staff to help when needed.
It helps me significantly within my role as they are both perfectly aligned to help me improve in work from what Ives learned at uni and vice versa by applying work to uni assignments to understand them greater.
Not really, it’s up to the department to set these up.
