  • Everyday is different but it involves bringing broadband and phone lines to lots of different customers. Also using skills to find out where there are problems and work out how to solve them

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned lots of new skills since joining Openreach learning how to run cables to the correct standards and also how to detect faults and locate them a fix the problems so they don’t happen again.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find the programme really enjoyable as every day is different you never know what is going to come at you so it always finds ways of keeping you on your toes.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We had a clear 9 week plan in the training school and I have now had another month out in the field working with a buddy all of this training has made me feel confident in doing the role effectively.

  • Everyone I have met on the team has been really helpful and are always willing to help. Nobody wants to see you struggle so everyone help out one another

  • All of my trainers have been very helpful and always concerned for mine and everyone else’s safety.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • There is a lot of support from everyone around so it really helps in building confidence to do the role

  • None that I have yet to experience

  • If you’re not sure about anything ask the questions everyone there has been willing to help every step of the way
