I am currently working as a Learning Designer. This role involves creating training content for Engineers. I will watch videos which PO's have created and turn these into documents that external trainers can train engineers from. On a day to day as of now, I have daily briefing meetings on Monday mornings which I attend when I'm working on Monday's. In this call, we go through what we will be doing for that day and any upcoming tasks. The day will later follow on with more meetings with trainers or PO's to see if they need any support from me.
As an individual who creates training content for engineers, I have definitely had to learn the processes on the way. I have got a feel of what Salesforce is like. I would be able to navigate my way through Salesforce. My other basic skills such as communication have also improved. I have been much more interactive with trainers and amongst the team.
I enjoy the program a lot. I think that it was the best option available for me. For someone who was not sure about going to university but also knew they preferred learning on the job, a degree apprenticeship was a great option. The Accenture program is a good fit as it allows me to choose the path that I want to specalise in.
When starting the program in September, an induction was well organised. It eased us into the program and timetable. There has always been support available. Even 9 months into the apprenticeship, if I had an issue there are multiple people that would support me. In terms of university, there can be confusion sometimes. I think that there needs to be more set out term dates and allowances etc.
I have recieved the support I have needed so far. They have helped me where I have been confused and clueless on what to do. Also when finding my first project, there was a lot of support from my employer. They linked me in with people who were looking for roles to be filled. Overall, I am made to feel like I can go to anyone within the organisation for support and guidance.
My program and qualification feel as if they are two seperate things. I have not found my program to be part of or included in my qualification much. We have had an review which went on earlier within the university year. Apart from this, I wouldn't say they are much involved.
Some of the things that I have learned at university have definitely helped me on my projects. I have been able to understand conversations that members amomgst my team have from the terminology and areas that I have learned at univerisity. Not all of the modules relate to what I am doing on my role, but I think that it gives me good background knowledge.
Yes. There are many activities which are open for us to get involved in. Although it has been harder to organise events due to COVID, Accenture have ensured that there is always an event we can attend to. For example, cooking classes or Apprentice social events. There are also groups etc. that we can join.
Yes
Accenture definitely make me feel a part of them. Although it has only been 9 months since starting, I feel as if I am part of the company. They manage to make you fele valued and the self-growth since starting there has been amazing. It is easy to believe that you will get lost amongst the thousands and thousands of other people in the company, however in Accenture this isn't the case.
Make sure you do strong background research on the company. Find out and understand their values. This is something which is very important for Accenture. When going through the onboarding process, think of your presentation carefully. Make it sound interesting. Make sure that you prepare for your interviews to your best ability. They are not interviews which you can come unprepared to.
