I am a care assistant who washes, feeds, dressed and take care of the vulnerable at their day to day needs. I have to do a number amount of paperwork throughout the day so we can always look back on things if it is necessary. I also put the residents to bed
I am awaiting to do my level 3. I have developed on many things for example how to properly deal with dementia people who are refusing to eat, drink or even accept personal care. I have also been on a lot more training days so my skills are up to date
I fully enjoy it as I am getting to learn new things on a daily basis. It has been the best experience learning along side my work friends too. Everyday is something new and exciting, especially when it get to learn something new and then share It with the people I work with.
My programme is very organised and structured as my learner was very detailed with the work she was giving and even teaching me. They was always there to help if I ever needed help with anything that I was stuck on. I was also treated very good by my assessor
I receive plenty of support by my employer, they offer me a lot of help and if I ever needed extra medical support they are willing to help with the cost, my employer also have an open door policy so you’re able to walk in and speak whenever You neee it
I was given so much support by my training provider, she was always available whenever I needed her, I could call her, text her or even email her whenever I was stuck. She would always talk to me around it and make sure I would understand it before she left
A lot more now that I have my level 2 I am able to take in everything that I learnt in my qualification into my job role and performed better on a day to day basis. I was also able to show my new work friends the better way everyday
At the moment there isn’t anything available. It may be something that the employer are looking in to doing as it is very important to offer such different activities as it could be very beneficial towards mental health and also very important to stay physically
Yes
Because it is a very good company to work for, they look after their staff to the best of their ability. They also make you feel very comfortable from the very first day. You can leave the job and feel like you have made such a huge difference to someone’s life
I would always recommend to be themselves no matter what they are doing. Also to take on every opportunity they are given as it will only help them in the long run especially if they are willing to do through all the levels. I would always say the age doesn’t matter on. New qualification
