In my role I complete general admin sent to me from my manager or other members of my pod. This can include, arranging meetings, reminders, taking minutes for meetings, creating agendas. I also work alongside another colleague to complete the oldest cases project where we keep track of cases to ensure we meet the corporate standards.
Yes, i have learnt how to use MS teams and outlook confidently as i didn't use these regularly before working at FOS. I have also learnt new systems one being Phoenix which is where cases are held and kept to review and track to ensure they are closed after the correct amount of time. I have also learnt how to arrange meetings and now have access to my managers calendar whereby i organise it and book meetings for him.
I really enjoy working for FOS, i think it is a very fair understanding environment and everyone as made me feel comfortable in my learning and always ensure i am on track. I think being my first full time role i was nervous to enter the work world along with starting from home and i have felt entirely comfortable throughout. I enjoy the work i do and find it fun to keep the pod organised.
I think it is well organised because my manager understands that i need 7 hours of apprenticeship work time a week and ensures that i am doing this. This enables me to completely focus on this work and get my hours in so the work can be completed without distractions.
I think the support from my employers is very good and starting from home, i was worried how this would go as i think it is easy to feel unsupported during this time. However personally i felt as if my managers and colleagues were always open to questions and very helpful.
I think my coach is very helpeful and we meet up on a call each month to discuss each topic and focus on any unsure points. She is also very fast at replying yo her emails if i need help and is always happy to help me go through a task if i am unsure.
I think a lot of work i do is linked with the course work on the side and helps me think deeper into my actions in the workplace. An example is the Personal Development plan as this can now continue throughout my apprenticeship and helps me to push my self to complete more tasks.
Yes, we have engagement teams and i am part of one in my pod, this is where we come up with ideas to keep the team well together and also can be used to help with performance whereby if a certain activity on a case is completed then gift vouchers and hours off work can be won.
Yes
I think the service has good values and is fair to all. I believe they do their best to help consumers and are also very positive and helpful to eachother to create a better working place. I think the layout is organised and apprenticeship work is given enough time to be completed.
I would say it is important to e hard working and proactive. The interest helps and can make you feel more passionate about the work you do. I would also say to ensure you are organised and want to be involved in a positive group of colleagues. I also think thy are very supportive and so joining the service you will feel very comfortable and will be pushed to reach the best of your ability.
