Driving busses to schedule. Assisting passengers with queries and with accessibility needs. Ensuring a good level of road safety.
All driving and vehicle training given to me has been a new learning experience. There have also been refreshers on customer service, and some brief overview on disability awareness although I would have liked this to go into further detail.
On the whole I have not enjoyed the apprenticeship. It has felt like an afterthought and inconvenience. The company does not give us time to complete any work.
Poorly. Taking into account covid restrictions, there has been little to no organisation. I have not been supported. There have been issues with getting the english/maths ticked off.
The only time we are given to do the apprenticeship is when the Development Officer who does the virtual classroom sessions manages to take us off our schedule for the day, which has been rare. The beginning of the course had alot of confusion as the company staff (instructors and mentors) didnt know much about the apprenticeship or what experiences we were supposed to document/diary.
The support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been generally good. It has made no difference to the ability to perform my role.
There will be in the future, however covid restrictions have put these aside for now.
No
There is alot of responsibility put into the hands of new/training drivers but little support or training is given to understand what the best actions are to take.
