My Job role is to care for the elderly and clients with dementia, I provide personal care, support clients to eat and drink, and I assist with general duties in the care setting e.g. waste management. I also help coordinate with doctors and Nurses and assist clients on visits.
I am learning how to give medications and I have advanced my knowledge in the home. I now know the legislation behind the actions we take.
I enjoy it a lot so far it's very rewarding and actually make me feels smarter. The work set is easy to follow and I enjoy sharing answers and results with my co-workers also taking the programme.
The programme is well set out and follows a good path. I can see how I am progressing as it goes along.
My employer is there if I need her but I have found the support from my co-workers and my assessor to be more than enough. I fully understand what I am asked, although it is nice to know there are learning materials my manager has should i need them.
My training provider gives me a lot of support, and explains things very effectively.
I know so much more about my job and role thanks to my qualifcation. I am learning all the time and feel my clients respond better to me thanks to my programme as I can empathise with them better.
I have been on one only.
