My role on a day to day basis consists of booking shipments/deliveries for clients, answering phone calls, responding to emails, monitoring sale statuses on our system, data entry prior to a sale (entering dimensions for each lot in a sale), inbox reading, which is all done alongside my colleagues.
I've developed my confidence skills especially having the responsibility of taking client phone calls and handling different queries via email. My networking skills have also expanded due to great opportunities provided by HR and my apprenticeship provider. e.g buddy programs and mentors. I'm also open to new tasks which is good.
I enjoy my programme a lot since it's very flexible considering i have the chance to focus on my apprenticeship but also carry out my role in which it lets me do this effectively. I believe its very practical as im learning and gaining more experience in my job at the same time.
my programme is well structured i believe as we have masterclasses from time to time which detail what our next unit is going to be based on. we are also able to attend virtual events to help our growth as apprentices. my colleagues know i need the allocated time for my studies also.
i receive a lot of support considering i have weekly virtual catch ups with the seniors in my role. i also have catch ups with my supervisor and so they're all really supportive and always there when I need guidance. HR are also supportive as they check in quite often.
i recieve a lot of support from my training provider as i have 1:1 sessions and sessions with my coach and supervisor and we discuss my progress or any concerns. i always feel supported and reassure after these sessions as it reminds me that i am supported on this programme.
my training provider helps me to perform better in my role as mentioned above, we have frequent check in session, also known as coaching sessions which allow me to express my progress and if any concerns are raised my apprenticeship coach and supervisor always come up with a helpful solution.
there are professional networking events that are virtual for now. im sure that prior to covid my workplace help a lot of extra-curricular activities such as racing for charity purposes, art viewings, drinks nights, and many more social activities. due to covid it has been reduced but theyre are looking to resume some once circumstances improve.
