I plan activities, care for the children within the setting and support their needs. I work at breakfast, after school club and the nursery looking after children aged 3 - 11 years old. I also am first aid trained and prepare the food for the children for snack times morning and afternoon.
I have improved my skills in lots of areas such as. Child development, safeguarding, confidentiality, planning activities, working in a team, whistleblowing, childhood illness, theories behind our practise. I have also developed my existing skills which has enabled me to be a better practitioner and provide more for the children.
I have enjoyed the work being online and being able to have access to my work through an online portal. This has helped with viewing feedback on my work and also being able to contact my tutor when I have needed. I have found the whole process really really good.
Lots of structure and set deadlines for my work has helped me stay on track and even complete my diploma early. My tutor helped to keep me organised by emailing me if I hadn't submitted work on time and also offered any support if I needed it. This helped me to complete work on time.
I was given extra time to complete work inside work hours and they were very positive about me completing my diploma and me completing my work. All zoom calls have been within work hours and also allowing other members of staff to give witness testimonies frequently when requested by my tutor.
Lots from my tutor who was always available at the end of the phone or by email.
It allows me to put the theory I have learnt into practice and work in a higher role to the role I have currently. I now know more about the children and their overall development than I did before starting my apprenticeship. Also I can now achieve a higher role.

Very good company provide good support for learners with tutors that you can talk to and ask questions by email or by phone. Also a great online portal for tracking work levels and what is remaining as well as others resources that are available on the online portal for all.
Stay focussed and stick to deadlines set as much as possible as this will help in the long term when coming to the end of your diploma and the end point assessment discussion and exam. Be confident in what you know as the discussion is just simply that a discussion
