On a day-to-day basis, I work within a team to complete an audit, working on specific areas of the file based on my level of knowledge and experience. Otherwise, we are in college studying towards our ACA qualification and completing exams throughout the year.
We had lots of training throughout the year, whether that was at the start of the placement to learn more about the company and how it operated, or specific training on software or on the job training. I learnt a lot about time management and my communication skills to be able to work effectively with my team.
I have absolutely loved my placement and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to gain real experience at work before leaving univerisity.
Very well organised, especially given the situation with working from home. I really feel the company made the most out of the situation we have had and I don't feel like I have missed out from being online.
I learnt a lot about what it would be like to work here as you are treated like another member of staff, not a student. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and would always help if I needed it.
It has massively helped me. I have really enjoyed the year so I know when I come out of university I know more about the career I want to go into and if I am making the right decision for me.
Yes we were paid for the placement year and all expenses are reimbursed.
Due to Covid the opportunities were limited however, online events were run and when possible we would have in person events too, all socially distanced, which mae it really nice to meet my team.
Yes
I have really enjoyed working at PwC and I have learnt much more than I thought I would in such a small space of time.
Apply early and really learn about the company and why you want to work there. Do your research but also be yourself in the interviews.
