During my virtual work experience, I attended workshops and webinars on the different streams that BDO offers with the opportunity to ask questions to different staff. I took part in a CSR project with a small team and present it.
By taking part in various workshops, I truly learnt how to identify my own strengths and weaknesses and how they can be used to my advantage in the workplace. I also learnt to built resilience and present myself efficiently as well as learning about the importance of commercial awareness.
I really enjoyed learning about the different streams and being able to network with other students and staff too. The CSR project was the most enjoyable moment for me, I loved picking a charity and looking at how BDO can aid them professionally.
I think it was quite organised, there were staff available to message in case we needed any help! We found out our timetable of activities in advance which was very useful too.
So much! I truly learnt so much about BDO and everything it stands for. It seems like an incredible company to work for which became more and more evident after hearing all the employees speak.
I'm still undecided but considering that accounting and finance was something I'd never thought I'd be able to get into, this virtual experience has definitely taught me that it is possible so it's helped provide me with more options.

Yes - we had a mentoring session at the end of the week which was really insightful and I was able to ask as many questions as I wanted.
Yes
I love the values that it holds and what it stands for. It is clear that they value you as an employee and you are treated as an individual. I also love the 5+5 days where you can do voluntary work and help out the community!
prepare for the virtual interview- practice using your webcam and articulating your thoughts calmly. apart from that, go in with an open mind - you'll learn so much!
