  • Provide Advice Use of ISO 45001 SMS Manage 'Personal Safety' - Lone Worker Devices etc. Create/Review Risk Assessments Audit Operational Procedures Building Audits Site Visits Accident Investigation Health Surveillance Training/TBT's Task Groups such as Committee Meetings with Trade Union Safety Representatives.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, my communication skills have improved significantly due to the fact that I am constantly communicating with colleagues within my team, other internal departments, and external stakeholders.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme for various reasons... I have gained a vast amount of knowledge in regards to Health, Safety & Wellbeing, whilst also gaining appropriate experience on the job. I am now in a career I love, and aspire to become the best I can.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I cannot fault the organisation/structure of the programme - as I have come to the end of my training, I have reflected back over the past 2 years and think it's suitably structured.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been brilliant; I have the training co-ordinator who liaises with college, whilst also having the full support of my manager and colleagues within our team.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have always had the support offered to me as and when it's been needed... Each time I have enquired about support, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] (Penshaw View) has been fantastic, and has always been there.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • To the best of my ability - the structure of the course enables you to gather vital experience and knowledge in order to become the best safety professional.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we have a Golf Society which I am a member of. There are also various events to promote well-being and all sorts at Bolton at Home - the list goes on and on! Throughout my job, there has been ample opportunity to attend Networking Events too.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Fantastic company which offers all of the support you could ever need; they really care about your personal well-being, and the culture as a whole is great! Also, the holiday entitlement/flexible working/pension/salary is very good too.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bolton at Home?
  • Read up and learn about the values and history of the organisation... And keep applying until it pays off - it honestly is a job for life!
