There was multiple individual tasks that were set on the forage platform for us to do individually, with live presentations and group exercises for everyone to get involved in. It provided us with a detailed insight into different areas of law and also gave us an insight into the culture of Pinsent Masons as a firm.
I have been taught a variety of skills throughout this work experience, which involved interview tips, cv tips and other general application tips. Not only this it helped to boost my confidence as we had to give presentations to the group teaching us how to approach speaking in front of large grounds and how to also articulate our self when talking to others.
i enjoyed it a lot. It was incredibly interesting and provided a detail and effective insight into the legal profession. It has also been very helpful in clarifying if i want to go into a legal career when i am older and has given me so many skills to help apply to other opportunities.
It was incredibly organised. Each of the students were given a schedule of each day outlining everything that we needed to attend. All of the calls and tasks were easy to access and run very smoothly, so it was very well organised in order for us to make the most out of it.
I have learnt so much about the company culture and what it would be like to work there. Pinsent Masons is incredibly supportive, and want people to progress. They are all very friendly and this shows the culture that the firm has where the are always welcoming questions and want to help others succeed.
It has helped a lot because it has clarified that I would like to do a career in law which i was very uncertain on prior to this event. I have been very undecided as to what career to go into and this work experience programme has made it clear for me that a career in law is what i want to do.
no we were not paid for the experience. It was all online so no travelling was required and it was our decision to apply to the experience to help us understand if we wanted to go into a career in law, and also to give us more skills for succesfull applications.
yes, each of the sessions were run by different employees and we were able to ask each of them questions about their career and any tips that they would have for us as students. We were also given the opportunity to network with other students so that we could all have an idea of our path into the experience and get a feel for who we was completing the work experience with.
Yes
Everyone that i met on the work experience programme were extremely friendly and were always happy to help with anything. You knew that you would be able to ask absolutely anything without feeling stupid as you knew that you had a supportive people on the call to talk to when needed.
I would say be authentic, be yourself because that is all they want as much as what you want to get out of the experience they want to know who they will be working with and supporting through out it. Also, throw yourself into tasks to get the most out of it by asking questions so you full understand everything, and so that you are able to clarify any concerns or ideas you have about the legal career.
