The experience involved talks from trainee solicitors they are mostly about commercial law and the ethics of Pinsent Masons. There are also legal tasks to be completed by participants which official answers will be released. Further, the programme provides insight to a career in law and it was a great experience.
I learned to conduct independent research. Whilst conducting the task regarding contracts, I encountered some terms which I do not understand. Through researching online and via books, I successfully furthered my legal understanding and completed the task. I was advised as to how to conduct independent research which helped a lot.
I really enjoyed the work experience programme because the staffs and presenters are very friendly. When I raise questions, they respond immediately and provide very useful advices. I feel that my questions are valued and the feedback I received is valuable. Also, the tasks are designed to help us develop skills.
It is very organized. There are breaks between sessions which allowed participants to rest sufficiently. Also, the timing of the tasks are suitable and we can see the answers in automatically timed limit. Furthermore, the time limit set up for tasks are reasonable and I can complete it within the limit.
I learned a lot about the company culture. It is very positive and people in Pinsent Masons really strives towards a better future. They help clients to achieve goals whilst keeping in mind that the society is important. It is really impressive as to how they manage both tasks amazingly.
I decided not to become a solicitor, unfortunately, after this work experience programme. Although being a solicitor brings about flexible timetable and a lot of human interactions. I realised I don't want to be a solicitor because of the repetitive and boring work which did not allow for challenges.
I was not paid at all. However, this work experience is virtual using teams as a medium. Therefore, I do not need to go to an actual place using a train or a bus. Also, the tasks are fake and do not benefit Pinsent Masons bas it was not for a client.
There are a lot of opportunities for networking and meeting other participants. We often the conduct group discussions and speak with other participants. we get to know more about each other while discussing with mentors as well. There is a lot of interactions between participants and I enjoyed it a lot.
Yes
It is because everyone is very friendly and Pinsent Masons has a great working ethic. The topics of their concern discussed is very interesting and stunning. They showed that they really meant to help and contribute to the society and wish for a better future for the clients and the society.
I will say show your true self. Don't shape the perfect candidate for Pinsent Masons in your head. Instead, they should mention about the effort and desire to study law and to conduct this work experience. It is critical to show real interests instead of pretending that you are interested in law.
