Processing stock that comes in to store whether it be an external warehouse transfer or direct delivery from the supplier. The stock is checked and quantities inputted into the system. General ad-hock such as emails and filing and reports as to be completed as well.
Ay my first office role I leaned many new skills. These include using Excel and creating reports, I developed communication skills both with internal and external stakeholders, by phone and email. I have learnt to train new employees and to use a new operating system Dynamics 365.
The programme allowed me to refine my skills as well as learn the ways in which businesses work. I enjoyed being able to lean new things alongside my everyday work. I did struggle to keep track of my progress as I had an instructor change half way through which made things harder.
The programme is very well structured, although it is hard to keep track of how far along you are without having the instructor telling you.
My employer was very supportive allowing me to take time when needed (a few times a week) to do the work. I did not have to take time outside of work to complete the programme.
My second training provider was very helpful, always scheduling future meetings well in advance and very fast to reply to emails with any questions and queries. He was also very forthcoming with training and very good at pushing me to keep going.
I think my training has helped me a lot. It has helped me train new staff as well as manage my time, this has come in very handy since working from home. It has also given me a better understanding of the business as a whole.
Since a large portion of the company has now started working from home they have developed some activities for staff to take part of, these are usually virtual events.

This was the first full-time company I have worked for. They took me in when I had very basic skill and have been happy to give the opportunity to learn new skills. I have worked a few roles within the company advancing to where I am now. I would recommend them because I believe they offer the opportunity for growth.
Show a willingness to learn. It isn't about having all the skills already but showing that you are ready and willing to learn and grow with the job. I would also recommend showing you are a team player as many departments work together and you should be ready to interact with everyone
