my work experience involved listening to talks and presentations by solicitors, and trainee solicitors. These presentations covered different areas of law, as well as different tasks and activities. we also reviewed a case study, and learned about what day to day life is like for a solicitor which was interesting.
I learnt how to interpret information from longer documents. for example, in the lease task, where I had to interpret and pull out information from the document. I've also learnt how to work well in a team, especially when we are working virtually. I have learnt what kind of work takes place in the day to day life of a lawyer.
I really really enjoyed the program. considering the program was virtual, I did not feel that the program was any ,less than it would've been in person. The Early Talent team and solicitors were extremely helpful and insightful. I felt comfortable in the envirmoment to communicate and ask questions.
VERY WELL ORGANISED. The information session before the program started allowed me to feel comfortable and prepared for the program. the program ran extremely smoothly and efficiently. I really enjoyed using the Forage platform, and I really liked how I could see my schedule for the program and know what was coming up.
a lot. we were told lots about Pinsent Mason's as a responsible and aware business. The supervisors told us lots about vacation placements and training contracts with the firm. We were also told about the different sized teams at the firm and the different areas that the firm works in.
it was really helpful. The work experience program has definitely allowed me to narrow down specific areas of the law that I am looking forward to and interested to work in.such as litigation. it has also taught be a lot about Pinsent Masons, and I hope to work there in the future.
no I was not paid or reimbursed for this experience. I found this experience through research of my own, to find work experience to help me decide whether law was the right career for me. The program was held virtually, meaning that I didn't have to travel, and eat at home.
yes. we had a networking lunch on Monday and Thursday, which allowed us to meet other members of the program (students). we also met many different trainee solicitors and solicitors throughout the firm, who were all very professional and approachable. we were able to interact with them and ask them questions.
Yes
it was a great experience. kit allowed me to get a great feeling for law, and different aspects of law. the program taught me a great amount about a career in law. the environment was fun and interactive. I always felt comfortable throughout the program to ask questions and learn.
I would advise to really try and get stuck into the program. especially because the program is virtual, it is really important to engage and interact in the activities. the program is definitely worth doing as it allows you to learn so much! its important to really try and engage in the tasks, as that is how you can get the most out of a great program!
