Designing customers kitchens and bathrooms and quoting for installation
I have learnt how to design tricky areas of kitchens and bathrooms and developed my existing product knowledge. I have also learnt what goes into the customer journey and what is expected of my job role within the business.
I enjoyed the virtual calls due to covid-19 as this saved on travelling time to my nearest learning centre. However, this meant we did not get to see suppliers and their manufacturing processes.
I don’t believe the course was well organised as this was the first year of them launching this course, also with Covid-19 hitting a lot of calls had to be re-arranged and we missed out on working experience due to lockdowns.
I received little support from my employer, I had to take it upon myself to put time aside to work on my apprenticeship. No manager reviews took place throughout the 12 month course.
My apprentice Mentor was a great help with any questions at any time.
I don’t believe my qualification helps me perform better as I was already working the design consultant role prior to completing the course.

Yes
Yes, because the showroom is a great place to work due to the morale and friendly relationships between colleagues. I enjoy coming to work but also the pay is really good.
Be prepared to commit extra time to customers, we work long hours most days but it is rewarding with the commission we receive.
