Daily tasks are to receive stock onto our operating system to keep stock count up to date as goods are delivered. I correspond with our remote warehouses and suppliers to get bookings for deliveries. I also interact with other departments if there are any issues with stock numbers or damages. I also keep a report to count what is being processed and compare it to the past 2 years, this is sent to all managers in my department.
I have done a few training courses such as intermediate IT (external course), COS and GDPR. I have completed two NVQs. I have also refined my Excel skills as this was not a software I had worked with before. I leaned how to communicate with others on a professional level by phone, email etc.. I also learned how to properly use Outlook and organize meetings.
I greatly enjoyed the program. It forced me to really understand my role within the company. It also allowed me to take a leadership position whilst working with my colleagues and take a closer look at how the team works together and how we can improve. It did meet my expectations and was actually more challenging than I would have thought but that was a positive as it meant I learned more than I thought I would.
The structure of my program was a bit confusing to start with. The online platform I found hard to navigate. However, my trainer was a great help and always fast to reply to any emails. Scheduling meetings was never an issue and he was always prepared for what we were to do that day. He helped me find ways to organize my work which made using the online platform much easier too keep up with what I was completing.
My employer was very accommodating, all of my course work was completed at the office. My manager was happy to sit in on meetings when needed. My mentor was very present and up to date with my progress on the program. I had a small, private room where the meetings were held and it was never an issue to use.
My tutor was a great help. He always made it clear what I needed to accomplish by the next meeting and was happy/speedy to reply to emails if I needed assistance. He helped me during meetings if I didn't know certain things but he didn't feed me answers but helped me come to them myself. He always seemed happy to be here and not rushed.
I feel overall my qualification has helped me better understand the contribution my role has within the company. It taught me to see how a business works and understand the importance of the supply chain. This allowed me to form better relationships with both suppliers and others in the company. I have learned how to arrange meetings which has come in very useful whilst working from home through covid.
There are a few a few social events that take place within the company such as Quarterly Evernts where staff can come and try products and interact with one another. We also have listening groups where you can voice any concerns you may have about the selected topics. We have a Summer breakfast and Christmas party every year also.

It is a great place for someone staring their career. They allow you to learn and are happy to teach new staff. There is also great opportunity for growth within the company. I have found the people who work here are very welcoming and everyone is happy to talk regardless of hierarchy.
I would recommend showing that you are open to learning new things and a great team player. For interviews I would say to dress smart as this is a prestigious company with a reputation to uphold. Coming well dressed and showing enthusiasm will help you stand out in on an assessment day. I would have like someone to have told be not to be nervous about my lack of experience but to focus on what I can bring to a team and my enthusiasm to learn new things
