Setting up activities for the children that is their level and helps them develop further. Serving food for the children and meeting their needs like nappy changes etc. Giving them the best care possible and helping them reach their full potential.
Developed team working and communication skills from working with other staff every day and talking to the children a lot. Gained confidence.
I enjoy helping the children every day and seeing them improve and develop. I do enjoy the whole job role a lot and working with other people is really good for communication skills and confidence.
It's very organised and we have a set routine that we follow every day in the nursery.
My employer is really helpful and gives me time out every week so I can get my work done. They also help out the staff a lot covering in rooms and offering support so I do get a lot of support from my employer.
I do get a lot of support and most questions I ask are answered however, I sometimes don't get told when training sessions are etc so I think that would help.
I need the qualification to be able to do the job and it will help me move higher up into a better job role. It also gives me the knowledge and skills I need to perform my best.
There are a few at my setting however since we have newly opened it is all still getting organised.
No
It is a good job and I do enjoy it however it's very tiring and not the best pay so even though I have loved it I would probably never work in a nursery again. It's long hours and I barely get any time to myself.
I would say have a long think about it first and make sure you are really passionate about it because the hours are quite long and it's quite a physical job. If you're really sure I think you can really enjoy it and it is a pretty rewarding job.
