I am a nursery practitioner in a room for the ages of 2 to 3 years. I have my own set of key children and am there to get to know them and their needs so that I can help them with their early years foundation stage development to the best of my ability.
Yes I have developed so many new skills since I have started. There is so much training and information available to me that I feel I can access so much to keep all of my knowledge and skills up to date and can ask for any help should I nee it.
I feel that it is very helpful in being able to give me a more in depth knowledge of childcare and the EYFS. It has been mazing to be able to learn so many different things and it has been really eye opening for me, I have really enjoyed the course so far.
I feel that the structure of the course is set out very well, but sometimes it is hard to get hold of my assessor as she only works 3 days. So if I do need any additional help with my work, it can sometimes be a little difficult to get through.
My employer has given a lot of support to me. However it has been hard at times to get time out for our twenty percent off the job working as I am not always given the time to do the work that needs to be done during our contracted working hours.
The lady that has been helping me through my course has been very helpful. But as I said earlier it is not always easy to get a hold of her if I need any help as she only works Monday to Wednesday, so if I need her I have to wait until the following Monday.
I think that it does help me to perform better as it has given me so much more knowledge on all aspects of childcare that I only had a very basic knowledge on before I had started this course. It has been an amazing opportunity for me to develop my skills.
Yes there are. We have had many team bonding days in our setting that have bought us all much closer together as a team and then therefore help us work together in the setting as well. So it has been very beneficial for all of us who work in the setting.
Yes
I would recommend this to others as it is a really good opportunity for people to extend their knowledge on the subject of childcare and the EYFS. It is a great source of information and a good way to learn while you are still working and still on the job.
To make sure that you understand what is required of you through out the whole course and to make sure that you can dedicate your time to getting all of the work done that is being asked of you. But I would really recommend it, it is well worth the work.
