I have been involved in filling out EGA's. I have been given the responsibility of completing several FSLI's on my own with coaching to help me. This has given me a lot of experience with different FSLI's and I can now fill out a lot of them on my own without any help. I have also been able to give out work to other Associates.
I have developed many soft skills. Including one i particularly struggled with, was formatting responses to clients or others through email or connect. I have now developed the skill to be able to do this on my own and can now communicate with clients on my own. i have also been able to present more findings to my team without being nervous.
I enjoyed the work that I carried out some of it more complicated than other but also enjoyed being able to communicate with the client etc. I also enjoyed the teams i was in as everyone was really nice and understanding of what I know and the level i'm working at. The social events were very fun too and were opportunities to meet different people in the firm as a whole.
I think the programme is structured well. It is a tough programme needing to do some lecture and revision work while on placement, but there's a lot of support through the university and the teachers for the course are pretty good. The training was good but you don't learn a lot on it until you actually start doing the tasks.
We receive a lot of support through career coaches, buddies, coaches within the team you're working on the client with and my managers have been very engaged within the team and really helpful to me. There is also lots of socials to provide you with the opportunity to increase your support system.
We receive lots of tutoring from the university and from additional placement training so we understand how all of the systems work and some of the things we will be carrying out while we are on our placement. Support is available through personal tutors and teachers are availible to reach through email or padlet.
The work we do on placement really helps understand the learning material we have for our exams by putting it into practice. But the information we learn on during our lectures helps us to understand the tasks we are given on our office placement but not past a certain extent you learn a lot on the job
There are lots of networking events including socials with industry groups with opportunities to meet people in different positions and create new contacts. some of the events included bowling, mini golf and just post work drinks. There weren't any sports teams but i think there are some for the firm.
Yes
The atmosphere of the whole firm is great. everyone is very friendly and you get lots of help to help you excel in your career. There are some amazing fringe benefits and rewards to pus you to do well. There's also lots of opportunities to work abroad and work in different departments
Prepare for the interview and look at websites to try and find out the types of questions you'll be asked. The assessment days, just be yourself and keep professional. Try to let everyone speak and present your idea clearly and stay focused and be aware of the time for tasks.
