Working on different clients completing different tests of details/ test of controls on different Financial Statement Line Items of the clients balance sheet. Working with a team both virtually and in person to discuss the progression and the status of the audit. Working with the client to solve any problems we have throughout the audit.
I have learnt many new skills such as various new formulas within excel, which increases the efficiency and productivity of testing. I have also developed on my communication skills through the discussion I had with the a particular client in which there had been many issues. Being clear and concise in communication was vital in this case.
I enjoy the programme highly. The teams i have worked with have been very welcoming and accommodating, understanding the fact that i am still relatively new to the firm. They have always taken their time out to coach me through difficulties. I have also enjoyed the work I had been issued as it expanded on what i had done previously and was challenging..
I think the programme is structured in a great way. Before starting actual client work, we got put through two weeks of training which was very useful and a lot can be taken from it that you actually have to use on the job. There is support throughout the placement as your allocated career coach is always on hand to answer any problems and help solve any other difficulties you may have.
A lot of support is received from my employer. There is support throughout the placement as your allocated career coach is always on hand to answer any problems and help solve any other difficulties you may have. HR is always available and accessible through the use of google chats and email.
The way placement is structured we do not get much support from out University during our placement. This is as we are working for PwC at this time and the exam support from university comes before and after placement. Although during placement out personal tutors at University are always available.
The qualification and exams leading up to the final ACA qualification definitely to a great extent helps to perform better in this role as an Auditor. What we learn in Audit and Assurance and Financial Accounting and Reporting, can be directly leveraged into the real life work we do at PwC.
There are a series of extracurricular activities that are available to all staff at PwC. The ones I took advantage of were weekly football matches with my peer/grade group. Also there was a monthly social in which I got to know a lot more people that work at the firm.
