This was my first placement therefore I was given a wide range of tasks to complete throughout my time at the office, I was mostly involved in stats and invoices which was interesting. I also worked on many different clients which was enjoyable as i got to see how different teams worked through their engagements, also allowing me to meet more people within the office
I learnt lots of new skills throughout my placement, mostly involved within the specific platforms that PwC uses to complete its audits. The new skills i developed are also very beneficial to the AA exam i will be completing in January. On the job learning has built my confidence for my degree and next placement
I enjoyed being able to work in an office as this was a new atmosphere for me and was interesting to see what it was like. My colleagues were all really helpful as well which made it a more enjoyable experience as i was comfortable asking questions etc. I think the work got a little boring sometimes but i'm sure when my skills develop i will be given more challenging tasks to complete
It was organised however before we started our placement we weren't provided with much information on what we would be expecting etc. until really close to the start of our placement which was a little stressful. However, when we started everything was structured which was useful and there were many people we could speak to if we had any questions
I have received lots of support from other people that work for PwC, all my senior associates and managers were open to helping me and never made me feel as though i should;t ask for help. There are many people in the office that i could contact for support
We haven't received much support from our professors throughout our placement which is understandable because we have been at work but also stressful because we have an exam to sit in January where we have basically had to teach ourselves the content. I believe that if i reached out however for support i would receive some
I believe working on job actually helps more with my qualification than the other way round however from my studies i learn lots of essential details that help me develop my knowledge for my role. especially the Audit and Assurance module we have been completing while on placement, this is definitely a good choice of exams to complete in january after out placement
yes, there are loads of extra-curricular activities to get involved in, however i didn't join any this time around because i was really busy. The office i worked at was very invested in having a good relationship between their employees and have lots of social activities for everyone to join which i really enjoyed
Yes
I really like PwC as a company because it's really inclusive of everyone, no matter what level you are at. It's constantly trying to improve the relationships between their employees, providing us with social activities and weekly quizzes etc. It also looks out for people, there's no judgement while people are willing to help with any problems you come across
Don't stress out before you join the office because there's nothing to worry about, you'll fit in quickly. Have a brief understanding or what will be required of you and what you will be asked to do. Come to terms with the different platforms and software they use so that you know how to work your way through them and to save you time while you're carrying out your work
