I was working on different audit teams which were both year end but some were also at the planning stage. The work that I was given differed on the client that I was working at the time. I worked at sampling and testing but also on budgets. I also went to various stock counts.
Communication skills really improved as I was working with people from all around the world and needed good communication to get the job done. Time management also improved as I was trying to get the work done in a timely manner but also to keep the quality of the work at the highest level.
Going to the office on a daily base really allowed me to enjoy my work experience much more rather than working from home which I have done in some occasions. The teams that I was working with made me feel welcome and that helped me a lot to feel more comfortable and enjoy it much more.
Apart from the fact that there were some occasions that i was not booked for a client and therefore did not have work to do everything was perfect. Every job that i was on had a clear hierarchy, from managers to associates, which was helpful to keep things in line and organised enough.
I was surprised by the diversity there was at the company. Everyone was welcomed at the company and you could understand that the culture of the company was that everyone was accepted and that the work done needed to be of the highest quality. I also really enjoyed the socials after a day of hard work.
When I joined i was not a hundred percent sure which path i was going to follow once i finish the university. After my working experience i am now sure that i will follow this job
