  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • • Ensuring that we have 24/7 eyes on monitoring across our enterprise. • Using alerting and monitoring tools to ensure we are aware before our clients if any issue • resolve and correct errors, escalate to level 2 teams to resolve, oversee infrastructure changes to ensure stability. Well, another ICT activity I am involved in with is to check whether a server is still responding, and I do this by opening up CMD by putting in certain commands to check the status of the server. This is because if the server isn’t responding, I would have to contact a more experienced member of EGOC so that they can fix it.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the apprenticeship program I am on because of all the different areas I have leaned over the past five months. i also really like how inclusive the company is because of how diverse the people are and how they really take care of their employees and especially with this early careers program Experian are doing is really good because it gave me a chance to start my career here early at the age of 16.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program I am apart of is well organised and structured because when it was the induction week they really made all of us feel comfortable by explaining everything we need to know about the company and giving us all goodie bags and the equipment we need for our job roles. Then when i had my introduction live event with QA my apprenticeship providers was very well organised because they explained everything i have to be prepared when i start the course. Also QA helps loads when i have any questions about the course or the activity i am currently doing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I have from my employer very good because when I have any questions about a certain task I have to complete they are always there to answer the questions I have. They always send out emails to see how all of us apprentices are doing in our individual job roles.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive loads of support from QA my training provider because by using the website BUD it is very easy to access the support I need due to them being just one BUD message away. when I need guidance with any problems I have my trainer will send me a list of feedback so I can go through that list and tick off the ones I have done on the activity and to see what I have left to complete

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The stuff i am learning through my apprenticeship provider, QA, helps me on a day-to-day basis in my role at Experian because in the most recent live event i did with QA they taught me how to use Command prompt to be able to ping IP addresses and how to use different commands on that software.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there is extra-curricular activities to get involved in at Experian because you can be apart of different voluntary services to help out the local community. I am a Jehovah's Witness so when i am not working i donate to this fund we have to help other Jehovah's Witnesses around the world by building their broken homes due to terrible weather conditions.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Experian to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Experian to a friend because of how good they have treated me coming into the company even though i had just finished my GCSEs and this was my first proper job. Also i would tell my friends that Experian would really look after you because for example due to my religion i have to go to a meeting every Thursday and Sunday so this will mean i wont be able to work late on a Thursday and Early on a Sunday.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Experian?
  • One of the tips i would tell someone who is thinking of applying to Experian is when they are going on the Assessment day they need to remember to always talk to the others in the assessment day and to try not to stay quite. Also to just be themselves.
