  • I have 2 years to learn and move around the business to absorb all the knowledge I can get. In my third year I will be in a position of responsibility, although I am still checked on by my manager and mentor to make sure I am competent and confident.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • At the start when I was not confident I did not speak up or state my anxieties this made the first months hard due to us working from home. However, I was determined and I was made to feel welcome after I expressed how I felt.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of Babcocks side of the apprenticeship is great, 2 years to learn and 1 following year to make mistakes and learn from them in a position of responsibility. However, communication between Babcock and our college diploma has not been as much as needed.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babcock to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The support I have gained from my employer, the people are lovely, the job is interesting and not mundane, the pay has allowed me to save and be ready to get a mortgage, it is a company that has great benefits and the culture is renewing to be more inclusive.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • The CV is the most important part to get right so you can get an interview, gain work experience and volunteering. The main thing employeers care about is who you are and if you will fit in the team. Relax for the interview, do some power poses and show yourself.
