Working with Babcock on a day to day basis is a great experience and I am looking forward to work as a long term career. As an first year apprentice I am based at Plymouth city college, so a lot of the work is learning based. I am excited to move to the next four years of my apprenticeship.
I have learnt and developed many skills and existing skills. I have mostly developed confident skills as well as communication and numerous other skills. A few skills which I have learnt over the past few months a few of these are learning about class work activities and how to problem solve at a quicker pase.
I enjoy my apprenticeship program to a high extent and I would definitely recommend the Babcock apprenticeship. I have received positive experiences throughout the time I started my apprenticeship and haven't received any negative experiences. The learning aspects of the apprenticeship has also been positive and I have learnt a lot.
The organisation and structure of my apprenticeship program overall is satisfactory. The organisational aspect of the apprenticeship is good and the structure of how the apprenticeship was arranged and organised. Information and key dates are communicated clearly. Overall there are no problems or complications through the organisational and structure of the program.
I have received great support from the teachers on the learning point of things and a lot of support given by Babcock and its staff. My experience with support has been excellent with no issues or complications at all. The amount of support from Babcock and Plymouth city college is great.
A lot of support has been given towards qualification we could get through Babcock and the apprenticeship scheme/ program. The support which has been given when working towards qualifications has been amazing from Babcock and Plymouth City College. There has been no negative experiences and help has been given throughout.
I feel that the qualifications through my training provider (Babcock) has been very beneficial toward performing better to my role as a mechanical engineer. Help has been given and has impacted positively on developing skills. The overall experience from my apprenticeship from working towards qualifications has been great with no issues
As a first year apprentice there hasn't been many extra curricular activities due to it being mostly educational settings learning about how to do the job. There has been a work Christmas meal which was organised by the apprentices which was for our group. However, there hasn't been any extra curricular activities with Babcock at the moment.
Yes
Babcock is a great environment to work in with no problems or issues. I would definitely recommend a Babcock apprenticeship to a friend or family member. The experience as a first year apprentice has been outstanding. The people and staff at Babcock has been nice and Plymouth city college has made it a welcoming place to be working at.
A few tips or advice I would give to others who may be applying is to not doubt the process of apply and when you have joined to make sure to keep on top of coursework. The college based environment in the first year has been great and help is offered.
