I have to make sure that I adhere to the policies and procedures in the setting. By doing this will help to make sure that keep all the children safe and secure within the setting. I also have to make sure that I'm proving the children with comfort, care and affection when it is needed.
My confidence is starting to build and my knowledge is building everyday as I am learning everything all the time whilst at work. I am also starting to know what and how you manage with the day at work such as if you have a hard day at work to make sure that it doesn't affect that it makes me feel rubbish
I have enjoyed the programme as I did eventually get the support I needed from my assessor. The apprenticeship itself is really well done as any work set is pretty much straight forward in terms of what you have to do in order to produce that to my assessor. I also like to the progress on the online to see how much I've grown
Once it gets going then the structure is really good. There has been some times where I have to chase them up as they have said that they will do certain things then 2 weeks later I've heard nothing but as soon as I say something I pretty much get it as soon as.
I recieve massive amount of support from both manager and my colleagues who I work with. They are also checking in to make sure that I'm alright and how I'm doing with the apprenticeship. They also sit down with me and explain something if I am ever unsure on anything.
I recieve support from my training provider eventually as sometimes it could take up to a week for them to answer me back and to get the support that I need in order to answer the question or statement. But when I do hear back they are really helpful and are always saying that they are available if I ever need any help or support with anything.
I feel like I've improved massively in terms of my confidence and knowledge as it has just boosted my knowledge in what type of things that have to be done in the setting and how you can look for signs for abuse and try to prevent it from happening again.
We have a sports team that comes in every Thursday for pre school where they do football skills and take turns. They also choose two children at the end of the session who have been listening well or who has participated in all of the different activities during the session
Yes
It is so rewarding to see all of the children develop and grow in confidence and in their learning and development skills. It is also lovely to know that you can help to shape that child's life from when they are little to when they leave at pre school.
To make sure that you will enjoy working with children and can cope with the hours and with any of their personla care routines that they may need doing like a dirty nappy or wiping their bum after they have gone for poo on the toilet. It is also important that you can adapt to meet the children's needs
