I give care to babies in the baby room, I look after babies from ages 4 weeks to 20 months depending on ability. I make sure all their needs are met and they are hitting their milestones within the EYFS curriculum.
I learn something new all the time. We constantly develop new skills in our day to day role and have lots of courses on noodle now to work through.
I’m enjoying it and although I thought I’d qualified a few years ago it turns out my qualifications were never relevant and they are in social care which I was really upset about but my tutor is great.
It’s a bit confusing as to what needs to be on there, there’s one file, portfolio, learning journal, time sheets and then there’s cognasist on top as well as functional skills in English and maths which is a lot of work on top of 40 hours.
I get a lot of support from my boss and she’s really good at listening to us. We have had Covid doing the rounds so have had to do extra shifts to cover which has been really hard to find time to study.
I’ve just had some extra support with my maths and English which I really need and my tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been lovely.
I’ve learned a lot, the webinars are really interesting and we’ve loved getting involved and chatting about the subjects.
We go out socially, we had afternoon tea at Christmas, we enjoy nights out too.
