My current role involves taking care of the incoming Chargebacks which the Banks send to us after a Customer raised an issue with them. I write letters in order to defend them accordingly or accept the Chargeback where applicable. This is a new team so we are always working on improving our ways of working.
I have learned new skills within my day job as well as my apprenticeship, which focuses on being a Team leader and improving management skills. I have learned about emotional intelligence and how to apply this within my day to day role and learning about people management has already helped me within my team.
I really do enjoy my programme and think it is extremely helpful within my role and further development. As I would like to take on a managing role in the future this apprenticeship is setting the groundwork for success and will help me adapt faster to the new role within a company.
My programme is well structured, however I do feel a little bit left alone at times, especially cause the topics are new to most of us and having a stronger support network to rely on would be benefinical. We have now created a whatsapp group to support with this. Additionally the tasks are often not set in time, leaving less time during the month to complete them.
My manager and employer provides great support and I have no issues with the 20% time off for my apprenticeship. My new manager is happy to get involved and help me wherever possible and is looking forward to meeting my tutor in order to learn more about the apprenticeship and how he can support.
I think the support could be increased as we are often unsure how to approach certain tasks and not everything is immediately clear to us. When asking for support this support is given, however it would help if everything would be a little bit more detailed on bud so we don't have to ask for support constantly.
I am confident that the qualification and everything I learn in it will help me a lot within my role and working within a team. I learn how to take the lead within meetings and generally work better with people. I look forward to using my qualifications in managing roles.
There are some extra online workshops within my workplace which I can get involved with, however they have not been very helpful for the qualification so far so I have not attended any / only one. Besides this we have online training and workshops available to view and train in our own time.
Yes
I think Booking.com has a strong vision and great values which are similar to my own. It provides an open minded workplace which is comfortable to work in no matter what your background or story is and I can feel supported during my worktime. There are many opportunities to get involved with too.
I would advise them to just come as they are and be themselves as the company welcomes and supports diversity and will do everything to make you feel welcome and appreciated. The company provides a lot of opportunities for everyone no matter what their interest is and where they wanna go.
