My role as part of the chase team involved calling applicants for further information regarding their employment history, any relevant documents that were required for the clients (the companies hiring the applicant), as well as undertaking and checking dbs checks, criminal background checks and feeding those back to the clients.
There were various skills that I picked up with the new office environment I was exposed to. Some of them are: - Organization. - Time management. - Multitasking. - Strategy development. -Information management. - Notetaking. - Cleaning workspace. -Schedule planning Learning new skills meant I was able to do more work and could invest in many works.
I had a catch-up/meet up session with a personal tutor once every two weeks and was able to openly talk about any concerns, challenges and other issues that I was having. This was a huge benefit and made me enjoy the programme more, knowing someone from the team was on my side.
Every two weeks there was a catchup with the personal tutor to discuss any worries, concerns or areas of confusion which was great. Most of the programme was spent on gaining experience in the office, workplace and immersing yourself in the chosen field you want to aspire to thrive in.
The employer had a good understanding with the company I was under as well as my personal form tutor, which was really important for me that everyone was on the same page. It made the whole experience a lot smoother and enjoyable. The employer was very easy to get along with and always willing to help with whatever I needed.
The training provider was marvellous with respect to how much care and attention they put into me reaching my goals and achieving my qualifications. The structure set in place really had things organised and the entire setup was great. The bimonthly sessions with the personal tutor from the training provider was excellent.
One of the differences with this, is of course, that there is a qualification that you are working towards and not just solely striving for the work experience itself. Doing both alongside each other kept things more enjoyable and challenging. It also gave a greater purpose for working for the employer.
There were not any extra curricular activities provided that I was aware of. Although there were networking events which were beneficial to your portfolio of your experience if you got involved. One of the things I would like to see, is more external activities arranged by the training provider themselves.
Yes
From start to finish, the entire way through the process was incredibly easy. From the application process itself to the first phone call arranging the work experience and the course itself. Not only was the application and on boarding process really easy, the structure put in place by the training provider made everything much clearer in what you wanted to achieve.
Really be honest with yourself and decide what you want for yourself first and foremost, which makes things a lot easier when applying and going into your chosen career and field of work/qualification. The team are incredibly easy to work with and very keen to help, everything is a lot smoother when you know what you really want for yourself as a starting point.
