On a day to day basis I am scheduling interviews for candidates at career level G and above globally. I am responsible for completing particular tasks and projects which have been assigned to me by my manager and colleagues. Also , I am learning about the systems and processes within my current rotation and how I can help to make them more efficient.
I am currently studying to complete an associate diploma in people management. Since joining AstraZeneca , I have developed my professional skills greatly specifically including my team work skills , leadership skills and communication skills. Furthermore , as an apprentice we have been enrolled in external training courses to improve our personal development and presentation skills which have been really beneficial.
I thoroughly enjoy working at AstraZeneca. This programme is a great opportunity to work in a global pharmaceutical company and work alongside industry professionals. The culture is embedded throughout AZ and everyone is so passionate about their role and the work they do. Everyone is so friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
The first month of my apprenticeship was my induction , giving me lots of time to learn how to navigate myself around AstraZeneca. Lots of training and support is given to ensure you are not overwhelmed or lost with anything. You are assigned a buddy and a mentor who are there to help guide and support you throughout your journey at AZ.
Everyone at AstraZeneca is very supportive and more than happy to help you with questions , tasks or projects you may have. Your line manager is always on hand and has time if you need anything. We have meetings every so often with our manager for a general check in and to update them on what work we are currently working on and if there is anything they can do to support us.
With my qualification which is an associate diploma in people management , we are assigned a skills coach from our training provider. Every 6 weeks we have a 1-1 meeting with our skills coach to have a conversation about our progress and if we need any help or guidance with anything. Every 12 weeks we have a meeting with our skills coach and line manager to have a conversation about my progress and any queries or concerns.
The qualification is a lot of learning and studying. The information is very valuable and helps greatly with my day-to-day role as a Talent Acquisition apprentice. Through completing the activities assigned by my training provider , I have had the opportunity to research in depth about AstraZeneca and the industry it operates in.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved in extra curricular activities. I am a committee member for AZinspire which is an employee resource group for early career individuals. We organise events , symposiums and social activities for any employees who want to get involved. Furthermore , there are many other groups which you can join depending on what you enjoy doing and are passionate about.

One of the best decisions I have ever made was applying for and accepting the job offer to become a Talent Acquisition apprentice at AstraZeneca. I am learning and developing so much every single day , being faced with new challenges and having to step outside my comfort zone to achieve what I thought I would never be able to do.
Be yourself! AstraZeneca are looking for real people who are passionate and keen to learn and develop as individuals. Make sure to research in depth about AZ and its culture and values as this will help you throughout your application and interview process. Think positively and give it your all.
