I am a Sale Coordinator apprentice. A lot my job is helping with the admin side of setting up auctions for my department. Each day is different depending on the time of year. Some main focuses of my role are; writing contracts and sending them off to clients, organising shipping of items and keeping runners up to date.
I've learnt many new skills during my apprenticeship so far. Most noticeably, my confidence has greatly increased. I have a lot more belief in my own ability and therefore set myself higher goals than I would've done before. I have also improved my communication skills. Although I have always been a confident communicator, speaking to collegues and clients can be daunting at times. However, I have had lots of practise and easily communicate to people within and outside the company with confidence and professionalism. Also, my job involves the use of several different peices of software which means my computer skills have greatly improved.
The programme has also helped me develop skills which have been very useful within my job. A couple of our modules have been software focused, one in particular being Excel, which is something I use often for my job. When I first started my role, my skills on Excel were limited. After completing the modules as part of the apprenticeship programme I am very confident on Excel which has made my work in the office a lot more efficient.
The programme is well structure, as it has progressed Multiverse has introduced more technical concepts and terms. This has made it easy to settle into our new roles and the programme and helped us learn to balance our office work with our apprenticeship work. Both companies communicate well to give us the support we need and ensure we get the most out of the experience.
I recieve lots of support from my employer. I have weekly meetings with both my managers, I am also able to easily communicate with them with any questions I have. Not only do they want to ensure you get the most out of the experience, they also care about your health and wellbeing to ensure you enjoy the experience and reach your full potential.
Multiverse have also provided support throughout the apprenticeship so far. All the apprentices have monthly catch up meetings with our Apprenticeship Coach, as well as the monthly workshops. Additional support is also regularly offered if we need it. Multiverse also have an online hub with many articles and online seminars focusing on both professional and personal development.
I feel as though I have gained some valuable skills from my qualification which I regularly apply to my job day-to-day. In paticular, workshops working on Excel have been especially beneficial as Excel is something I use on a daily basis and struggled with at the start of my role. There have also been valuable topics included in modules, such as analysing data and communicating in a professional environment.
There are several social events organised throughout the year which is a great opportunity to network and meet colleagues.
Yes
It is the friendliest work environment I have ever been apart of. Everyone I have come into contact with across the company has been incredibly kind and friendly. It's a lovely place to work, I genuinely enjoy coming into the office and being a part of the team.
Don't worry about not having a lot of knowledge of the art world, there is a huge variety of roles across the company. Show willingness and enthusiasm to work hard and learn new skills. Read through and become familiar with Christie's values and the history of the company. I also recommend looking on the website at recent auctions and exhibitions.
