  • My role is split between standard procurement (i.e. tendering, contracting, onboarding of new suppliers, etc...) and project management. My key responsibilities incl.; stakeholder management (internal and external), on-boarding of new suppliers, strategic planning and development within my category, category management.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Definitely! I have had a lot of experience to develop the following skills: presenting, communication, interpersonal skills, time management, organisational abilities and recently more leadership and managerial skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme. I have found it extremely useful to learn the logic behind my procurement role and it has given me more confidence when doing my daily role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that my programme is relatively well structured, however, the reason I will not score it a 10 is that at the beginning it took a while for us to get a tutor and this caused a lot of delays in our learning. However, apart from that it has been great!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I would say that my employer is very supportive (particularly my senior management) and will assist wherever required. The only thing I would say is that my workload is quite high and this has impacted quite heavily on my work-life balance in recent months

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I would say that my trainer is generally great. They are very helpful at answering questions and super supportive. The only thing is that I find that they go off tangent quite a lot and this can waste a bit of time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • 100% it has helped me. It has given me greater confidence when doing my job and has taught me the theory behind what I do. It has also allowed me to see things from a different perspective & apply theories and models to my work

  • Yes definitely. We attend a lot of expos

  • Yes

  • I have thoroughly enjoyed working for Lidl and even though it is fast paced, its an environment you can really thrive in if you apply yourself

  • Always be yourself and always put your best foot forward
