I assist 4 senior leaders within their day to day job roles. Helping them with calendar, email responses, filing , finance and meeting management. I am to complete tasks on their behalves to essentially make their lives much easier and so their scientific work and research can be optimised in an effective manner.
One of the main things that I have learnt has been to develop and improve on my own organisational skills, as well as organising other peoples schedules and time. I have also learnt the power of networking which is a skill that I now use on a daily basis for my own self progression
I did enjoy my programme whilst completing it. The scope of the course was great and it covered a variety of different functions that were proven to be extremely useful within my day to day job role. Such as finance, admin skills, project management and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the business .
I thought my programme was fairly organised. I had regular catch ups with my tutor grahame, and he was always just an email or a message away. I could track my progress easily on ' BUD' so could always see the structure of the course and look over upcoming topics to prepare.
The majority of the time my manager was supportive towards my educational needs, however she would some times expect work to be done , even on my study days. The HR team were always on stand by and were able to try and tackle any issues which was re assuring. My mentor was a massive help at guiding me through situations I may of felt uncomfrtable in
The training provider was great especially when it came to sitting my exams. I was always kept in the loop to what was happening and I definitley felt supported during stressful times! [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my tutor was always there to help me through any obstacles and understood when / if the workload got too much!
I feel as if my apprenticeship definitley interlinked and helped me within my day to day role as a PA within Astra Zeneca. For example, some of my tasks would be around diary and scheduling techniques, which is something that I would use very regularly. I have definitley used the theory and been able to demonstrate it within my job role.
Yes there are many. I was a part of an Employee resource group for early talent at Astra zeneca, called AZ inspire. This helped organise all kinds of events. Ranging from social, charity work and educational symposiums. There are also a lot of fun departmental team building exercises to participate in also
Yes
It can bring you many opportunites within a global environment. The people are extremely welcoming and every body wants you to learn and thrive. There are so many careers avaliable and every day you learn something new. The employee benefits are also great and it provides a stable career in the long run.
I would always research the company before applying. See what their values are is crucial. And from this, try and translate your own knowledge and experiences to coordinate with their values. I would try and put as much time into prepping for your assessment day as you can , ensuring you have gone over the material with your parents / someone before hand
